Obituary

Grady C. Brim Jr., 71, was born November 20, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri to Anthonette Williams-Brim and Grady Brim, Sr. Both parents preceded him in death.

Grady graduated from East High School and attended Penn Valley Community College. He was a sharp dresser who always had a Lincoln Town Car, matching suit and hat, and a smile.

Grady was a warm friendly, compassionate man. He showed this to his friends and family. He demonstrated this when he assisted with the care of his mom and dad during their extended illnesses.

Grady worked as a corrections officer for Jackson County before moving to Seattle, Washington in 1977.While in Seattle, Grady worked for Boeing Aircraft company. He returned to Kansas City in the early 80's and went to work for the Kansas City Transit Authority as a Maintenance Technician. Grady retired from the bus company in 2011.

Grady married the Love of His Life, Charlene Jackson on September 27, 1997. He spent his entire life loving and caring for her and his family. Grady passed into God's arms on October 22, 2019 at St. Luke's Hospital on the Plaza. He will be forever loved and missed.

Grady leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Charlene Jackson-Brim; brother, Fred Brim (Tammy); sister, Rosemary Brim-Tureaud (Rodney) of Lake Worth, FL; sons, Grady C. Garner (Nicole) and Kaseem Jackson (Yodie), Al'Torek Jackson; daughter, Fatima Jackson; grandchildren, Tyler Garner, Kennedy Garner, Clayton Garner, Peyton Garner, Kai Li Jackson-Gines, DaQuan Jackson-Towns, Kai Jackson-Gines, Cree Jackson (Nate), Darrius Ruff (Marlicia), Jamaal Wiley, and Clayton Jackson; uncle, Lovie Brim of Arkadelphia, AR; nephew, Freddie Brim Jr.; nieces, Dawn Beasley of Lawrenceville, Ga, Erika Medina (Alex) of Renton, WA, Markina Kelley, and Fredricka Brim of Los Angeles, CA; a host of cousins and other family and friends.

Funeral services Saturday, November 2, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Private disposition. Visitation 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
