Gregory Theodore Evans was born on August 7, 1956, to Theodore Evans and Dorothy Riley in Kansas City, Missouri. He was raised by his grandfather, Ernest J. Smith. Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, grandfather, sister, and daughter. Gregory was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri public school system and became a carpenter through the Kansas City, Missouri apprenticeship program. He was employed with J.E. Dunn Construction Company and later became a contractor of his own company. Gregory married Teressa Holland on November 22, 1980, and two children were born to that union: Lakesha and Kareem. Gregory was baptized at Harvest Church and later became a deacon there. He enjoyed studying the Word of God and winning souls for Christ. In addition, his favorite pastimes included watching movies, sports, and politics. Gregory departed this life on August 1, 2022. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 42 years, Teressa; son Kareem, son-in-law, Dujuan Campbell; five grandchildren: Ethan Eskridge Campbell, Deresha Billups Campbell, Eden Billups Campbell, Carmen and Kayla Evans; brothers: Kenneth Evans, Tracy Evans, and Curtis Riley; sister, Michelle Martin; sisters in law: Tammy Evans, Denise Palmer, Cynthia Dillon; brothers in law: Eugene Holland and Jerry Holland; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
