Obituary

Gregory Haney, 60, departed this life cycle on August 15, 2019 in Livingston, Louisiana while living out his dream. He was born November 2, 1958, the 4th child born to the union of Eddie Lee Haney and Charlene Charlesletta (Edwards) Haney in Kansas City, Missouri at Queen of the World Hospital.

Affectionately known as "Greg", he was raised in Kansas City, Missouri and attended Wendell Phillips and D.A. Holmes Elementary Schools. He also attended Lincoln Junior High and went on to finish with the class of '77. He was a Battalion Commander amongst ROTC, which he was a part of for four years.

Greg's hobbies included drag racing and working on cars. He was employed by Kelly Construction Company, Phillips 66 Gas Stations, and Western Container Company for thirteen years. He then managed Wingstop in Leavenworth, Kansas for four years until he followed his dream of driving trucks over the road. He worked with P.A.M. for four years and then went on to work for Allstate, when he took his last load doing what he loved.

Greg went by many nicknames: Captain Quick Draw McGraw, Sir O.G. Hollywood and Casper.

He was a kind-hearted and loving man. If you knew Greg you knew his children and grandchildren were his pride and joy, and his world. He was the "Papa Bear" of the Tribe.

He leaves to cherish his legacy: two Daughters, Lisa Browning and Natasha Haney; three grandsons, Moreion Owens, Cristian Owens, and Kevin Roland; two brothers, Eddie Lee Haney, Jr. (Anita) and Roger Haney, Sr.; one sister, Edith Haney-Galvin; one God-daughter, Ms. Nikita Guthrie and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
