Gregory Seals was born to Ivory and Gwendolyn Seals on September 30, 1950, in Kansas City, Missouri. Gregory departed this earthly realm on April 12. 2023 and is now in the presence of God.

Gregory attended Southeast High School and enlisted in the United States Army afterward. He served from 1974-1996, at which time he retired. Gregory accomplished and received numerous certificates of achievements during his tenure in the Military, for example, Korean Language Culture, U.S. Air Force Airlift Planning, and Military Customs & Inspectors Courses. In addition, he traveled the world and much of the United States.

After his Military Retirement, Gregory began employment with the Jackson County Family Court in 1996 as a Detention Youth Worker. In 1997, he transitioned to the role of Control Clerk and was later promoted to Lead Youth Worker of Home Detention. Gregory retired in May 2012.

Gregory had a passion for music, especially jazz, and was an avid fisherman. Gregory also had a natural tact for building and repairing computers.

Gregory was preceded in death by his grandparents, Franklin and Mary Handley, his father, Ivory Seals, and his great-grandmother, LuLa Shepard.

Gregory is survived by his mother, Gwendolyn Seals; his wife of 22 years, Judy C. Seals; Children - John A. Seals, Catherine Seals, James Seals, and Latonya Mansaw; Siblings - Stanley Seals (Kim), DeAun Rimmer, Dana Allen, Dawn Seals, Shawn Seals (Linda), and Primalton Peterson; Grandchildren - Samaria Seals, Azariah Seals, Neriah Seals, Hezekiah Seals, Ephraim Alexander, Sean Wheaton, Mustafaa Rose, and Khyla Stevenson; Stepchildren - Bridgette McDaniel, LeVaughn Owens (Marie); Step Grandchildren - Brittany Brown, Jordan Owens, Myles Howard, Jhermayne Townsend, LeVaughn Owens, Jr., Destiny Stacker, and Unique Stacker; A host of Great-Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, and friends. Special recognition to Ms. Dotsy Seals and his " Road Dog" Ebony M. Hayes.

The homegoing celebration for Gregory Seals will be Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Cooley-Marcom-Harvey Funeral Care 9100 Blue Ridge Blvd. Kansas City, MO 64138. Visitation from 11am – 12pm with funeral services immediately after.
