Obituary

Harold Eugene Ellison, 64 was born on September 1, 1954 to Theotis Williams and Mildred Ellison in Wabbaseka, Arkansas. At an early age he confessed his faith in Christ. The family then moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1959.

Affectionately known as "Weed", he completed his education in the Kansas City Missouri public schools. Although he didn't attend church often he kept his faith in Christ.

Harold was a big fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and he loved watching Western. He was an excellent dancer back in the day. And he loved being around family and friends.

Harold worked several jobs throughout the Kansas City Area. He worked for Walker Towel & Uniform Services in 1974, where he met Carolyn Adams. The two later married in 1994 having one son. Harold retired from Auto Auction in 2001 after 23 years.

Harold departed this life on Friday, December 7, 2018 at the home.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Washington, maternal grandparents, Sam and Lillie Ellison, two special uncles, Sam Ellison Jr. and Theartis Ellison, one special aunt, Bobbie Broom, one sister, Dorris Garlington, one niece, Cydria Graham, one nephew, Stephen Washington.

Harold leaves to cherish his fond memories: his loving wife, Carolyn Ellison; his five children, LaShonda Collins, Harold Jr. "Grass", Anthony, Shawn and LaLa; grandchildren, Shaleea, Trevon, Hayden and others; three brothers, Ronnie Ellison (Debra), Albert Washington (Lucille), Michael Washington (Melissa); three sisters, Minister Debra Darrington (Allen), Sherry Washington and Shantkay Washington (Cortland); three special uncles, Pastor E. Frank Ellison (Queen), Johnnie Ellison (Willa), Eddie Ellison and extra special uncle, Leceister Ellison (Patricia); five special aunts, Dorothy Dawson, Alice Taylor (Andrew), Rhett Fowler (Raymond), Lorraine McAfee and Birdie Monson; two special brothers-in-law, Ladell Garlington and Allen Darrington; three special cousins, Henry Ellison (Big June), Myrtle Ellison (Mert) and Linda Evans; six nephews, Damon Washington, Ronnie Ellison Jr. "Ron Ron", Robert Washington, Mekel, Dominick and Davon; five nieces, Lakita, Lillie, Henrisha "ReRe", Brandy, Cierra "Whoodie"; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services Saturday, December 22, 11:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Private disposition. Visitation 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
