Obituary

Harold L. Levingston, 72 of Kansas City, MO died Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Villa of St. Francis in Olathe, KS.

Harold was born October 2, 1948 in Haynesville, LA to the union of Clinton and Louise Coleman Levingston. Two siblings, Leonetta L. Dixon and Charles L. Levingston preceded him in death along with nephews, Dexter and Courtney Levingston.

Harold accepted Christ at Friendship Baptist Church, Haynesville, LA at a young age. He graduated from Woodson High School in 1966. He received his Associates Degree from Grambling State University. After relocating to Kansas City, MO, he moved his membership to Genesis Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. Earlier this year, Harold graduated from Faith Bible School, Monroe, LA in Old and New Testament Studies.

On September 7, 1971, he united in Holy Matrimony to Kay Frances Lane and to this union, one son Jermaine was born, and he became "Pops" to James "Sonny", Toya and Dominique.

He was employed for numerous years at Corn Product, Farmland and retired from FEDEX.

Harold leaves to cherish his memory: a loving devoted wife, Kay L. Levingston, Kansas City, MO; two daughters, Toya (Bradley) Black, El Paso, TX and Dominique (Gary) Richardson, Mansfield, TX; two sons, James "Sonny" Lane, Kansas City, MO and Jermaine (Keisha) Levingston, Kansas City, MO; five grandchildren: KeBreon, Christopher, Davion, Jayden and JaNiya; two great-grandchildren; niece, Cassandra D. Thomas; nephew, Adrian (Wanda) Dixon; aunt, Geraldine M. Coleman; a host of special cousins, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors Chapel. Interment XII Gates Cemetery. Visitation 10:00 am - 11. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Due to COVID 19 masks are required. Services Live Streamed at mstcsunset.com
