Obituary

On May 29, 1941, in the town of Coffeyville, Kansas, Harriett Ann Wade was born to the union of Clem Martin and Elizabeth Daniels Martin. Harriet attended school in Coffeyville, Kansas. Harriet moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1960. While in Wichita, she met and married Robert Ellison. She was member of First Church of God in Christ, Wichita, Kansas. They lived in Wichita, Kansas, for some years, and then relocated to Maryland. In 1971, Harriett and her children moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where she later met and married Oscar Wade, Sr. Harriett worked for Western Missouri Mental Health for 10 years, and then worked for House of Lloyd for 17 years, where she retired. During her tenure at House of Lloyd, Harriett made quite a few friends, some of which she remained close to until her passing. Harriett loved the Lord and accepted Christ at an early age. Harriett was a faithful member of The Historic Boone Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, Kansas City, Missouri, under the leadership of the late Pastor Floyd H. Thuston until his passing. She later served under the appointment of his son, the Bishop Lemuel F. Thuston, until her passing. Harriett served in various ministries under his leadership and was the President of the Christian Kitchen Ministry. Harriett enjoyed serving people and her love for cooking brought joy to many. Harriett was predeceased in death by both parents, two brothers, her husband, Oscar Wade, Sr., her son, Oscar Wade, Jr., and her grandson, Phillip Martin. Harriett leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Cheryl, Tammy, and Gria, her son, Dave, her grandchildren Keith, Jeffrey, Monique, Cole, Nathalie, and Julia, and many great grandchildren. She also leaves countless dear friends who affectionately called her "mother." Funeral service will be held Monday, March 21, 2022, 11:00 a.m., at Boone Tabernacle. Visitation 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Masks are required for attendance. Services entrusted to Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors
