Obituary

Helen Louise Johnson was born on October 30, 1947, in Waukegan, Illinois, to her loving parents, Johnny and Alena Abrams. She peacefully departed this life on February 3, 2025, surrounded by her devoted family.

A hardworking and dedicated individual, Helen spent 45 years employed at Burger King, where she built lasting relationships and was known for her incredible work ethic.

Helen had a deep love for cooking, hosting family gatherings, and creating unforgettable memories. She found joy in preparing meals that brought people together, and her dishes were always filled with love and care. She especially loved holidays like New Year's Eve, where she could surround herself with laughter and love. Whether in the kitchen, spending time with family, or enjoying a trip to the casino and bowling alley, Helen's presence brought happiness to all around her.

Helen was a woman of great warmth, kindness, and boundless love for her family. She was a dedicated mother to her sons, Darren Johnson and James Johnson, and daughters Vanessa Johnson and Rashada Taylor. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she lovingly embraced each of them: Ashley Johnson, Marcus Carroll, Nathaniel Carroll, Quiana Smith, Dominique Smith, Ryan Johnson, T.K. Brantley, and Khadija Taylor. She also cherished the memory of her beloved grandchildren who preceded her in death: Emari Johnson, Mariah Carroll, and Jaylen Smith.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Alena Abrams, her sons Darren Johnson and Marcus Johnson, and her beloved granddaughter, Emari Johnson. She also joins her sisters Katie Hanna, Lula Bishop, Emma Williams, and Mary Brown in eternal rest.

Though Helen is no longer with us in body, her spirit will live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew her. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love will remain etched in our lives forever.

Helen's legacy of love and joy will live on through all those whose lives she touched.

She will be forever missed and never forgotten.
