Our heavenly father saw fit to send his beloved child Helen Kristine Parker home to be with Him On March 20th, 2020.
Kristine was born to the late James Washington and Louise Well- Washington in Arkansas City, Arkansas on December 4th of 1944. Kristine was the third child of thirteen children. Her parents and four siblings preceded her in death.
At an early age, Kristine had found her greatest pleasure in her life, loving God. In 1971, she and Fred attended New Day Apostolic Church under Pastor Naomi Haynes. While there both were Baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost. Also, both Kristine and Fred Parker were ordained as Evangelist. She shared her love for God throughout her life to anyone who would listen. While testifying, she would always quote one of her favorite verses Acts 2:38. Remarking how after she was baptized she went on further, staying at the altar and tarried until she received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost.
At a young age, she had and illness that prevented her from walking her first four years of life. As time went on, God blessed her and she developed a passion for dancing. When some artists at the time saw her, they expressed a fondness for her dancing abilities. Artist such as James Brown.
In 1962, she met and married Mr. James L. Belcher Sr. To this union, they had two sons: James Leonard Belcher, Jr and Kristopner C. Belcher.
In 1970, she met and remarried Mr. Fred D. Parker on May 20th of 1971. They first lived in Kansas City, Kansas and later moved to Olathe, Kansas. They resided there off and on for nearly 20 years. In 1986. they adopted three boys: Randall Hayes Parker, Richard Hayes Parker, and Ronald Hayes Parker. They raised them as their own. Showing them love and care, all they days of her life. Of the three boys, one preceded her in death, Richard (Ricky) Hayes Parker.
Kristine was educated in Arkansas and Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Manuel High School in Kansas City, Missouri in 1962. She furthered her education at AVTS of Kansas City, Kansas. Earning her License Practical Nursing degree. She later went on to receive he Bachelors in Science in Nursing, BSN, at Mid-America Nazarene College in 1995 in Olathe, Kansas.
Kristine worked in nursing for many years. Working as a CNA and a LPN at various facilities in the Kansas City Metro area. Working primarily in the NICU (neonatal intensive care units), labor and delivery units in hospitals.
To celebrate Kristine's home going, she leaves behind her husband of 49 years Mr. Fred D. Parker, five sons and one daughter. Mr. James L. Belcher, Jr (Gwen) of Kansas City, Kansas; Conrad Parker (Courtney) of Kansas City, Missouri: Toni Parker Walker of Grandview, Missouri; Kristopher C. Belcher of Lenexa, Kansas; Randall Hayes Parker of Merriam, Kansas; Ronald Hayes Parker (Stephanie) of Kansas City, Kansas. Siblings: Tommy Washington of Larned, Missouri; Cecil Washington (Emma) of Shawnee, Kansas; E. Diane Turner of Overland Park, Kansas; Sharon Mansaw (Edward) of Kansas City, Kansas; Anita W. Gardner of Kansas City, Missouri; 25 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Graveside service Friday, May 1, 2020 11:00 am at Forest Hill Cemetery. Service conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may shared on our website.
