Obituary

Henry Lewis Bausby, Jr., 75, passed away on December 15, 2018 at St. Joseph Medical Center. He was born January 10, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri to Henry Bausby, Sr. and Myrtle (Foster) Bausby. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Roy and Billy Bausby; and two sisters, Brenda Bausby Rice, and Sheila Bausby.

"Hank", as he was lovingly known, had numerous accomplishments and involvements which include previous membership of the SCLC, a Union Steward, and Treasurer-later a Secretary Treasurer of the CWA Local 6360. He took Accounting, Personal Finance, and Business Law courses. Hank previously was a United Way counselor. He was a previous Achievement Advisor and a Referral Committee Agent.

Hank was employed with Western Electric, AT&T, and Lucent Technology (25 years of service). After retirement, Hank decided to return to the workforce as a tax preparer for 19 years with H&R Block. His hobbies included listening to jazz, yard work, grilling, fishing, skating, attending concerts, traveling, and swimming.

He leaves behind his wife, Lynn Bausby; children, Tamika Bausby Shelby, Bridgette Bausby-Tanner, Mark Jackson, Paul (Skipper) Chandler and Valerie Collins; sister, Eartha Bausby Berry; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service Saturday, December 22, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Longview Memorial Gardens. Visitation 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
