Mr Henry E. Chase (Buster) was born on September 27,1941 in Hazlehurst, MS to Robert B. Adams and Bertha Mae Chase Tanner Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents,
sister Barbara Jean Phillips, Celia Bailey, Maxine Tanner, Mildred McKay, also a granddaughter Kristi Carroll.
He was educated within the public-school system of Hazlehurst, MS. He was an active dedicated deacon at Rock of Ages Missionary Church in Kansas City, MO.
He was married to Edna M. Chase (Harris) of 44 years. He was employed by Wilkerson-Maxwell, APAC Kansas and Clarkson construction companies. He was a member of the labor union Local 663. He retired as a labor foreman after 37 years of dedicated service in 2006.
Henry loved to tell jokes and stories. His favorite pastimes included collecting baseball caps and hosting family gatherings. Henry had a special talent of naming all of the children within the family as well as the children of close family friends. Some of the most memorable nicknames include (Puggy, PJ Cataracts, Jinks, Butter, Puffy, Bird, Yant, Dollar Bill and Dirty Legs). These nicknames have endured over the years and have become common amongst family and friends. Henry was a hard worker, but he did not consider building bridges all over the Kansas City, MO and Kansas City, KS as work. This was his love and passion. It is what he seemed to enjoy most of all.
He departed this life peacefully at home on August 14, 2020. He was surrounded by his loved ones. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted wife, Edna M. Chase, three daughters, Debra Miles (Donald), Cynthia Carroll (Ronnie) and Otealet Chase, three sons Kenneth Chase (Jamie), Lyle Harris (Leslie), Larry Livingston (Lori), grandchildren Kalli Franklin (Benjamin), Ronnie Carroll Jr, Chavis Carroll, Chasity Chase, Kaleb Chase, Kelon Chase, Chayson Russell, Izaiah Chase-Russell, Amari Harris and Elijah Harris; a host of great grandchildren; two sisters, Joanne Sutton (Walter), Phyllis Tanner, two brothers Billy Chase and Crosby Tanner (Patricia), a host of relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 1:00 pm at St. Paul Monument of Faith Church of God In Christ. Private disposition. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website. Due to the COVID 19 Panademic all guest are required to wear mask.
