Henry C. Ellis was born January 22, 1936 at 2:30 a.m. in Ft. Worth, Texas to Henry Ellis and Eula (Henderson) Ellis. His parents and two sons, Danny Ellis and Curtis Ellis preceded him in death. Henry was educated in the public schools of Ft. Worth, Texas until he relocated to Kansas City, Missouri. Henry joined the United States Army in 1954 during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged in 1956, a year later he was hired on as a firefighter, Henry loved being a firefighter and spent the next 26 years fighting fires. He retired in early 1983. Henry accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at Swope Parkway Church of Christ in KCMO. He was baptized and became a member on March 28, 2006. Noble Henry Ellis was in good standing with the Mystice Shrine of North and South America, and Jurisdiction Temple No. 33 at Kansas City KC on December 19, 1970. Brother Henry Ellis was also granted a certificate attesting to his Masonic Light for Service as Worshipful Master of South Gate Lodge 101 F&A.M. in 1973. Henry enjoyed the outdoors and spent every moment living that dream. He traveled to Italy, Austria and Germany; a month long journey to see the world as he saw it. Henry hunted, fished and camped out just about any weekend that he could get off work. Henry departed this life on January 22, 2017. He leaves behind: his children, (Anna) Sonya Ellis, Henry Ellis II, (Dollie) Nicole Ford, and Dana Luqmon Ford; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
