Howard
Harris
Jun 12, 1952 — Nov 4, 2016
Howard Harris, 64, KCMO, passed away on November 4, 2016. He was born June 12, 1952 to the late York and Bessie Harris in Pickens, Mississippi. He was the youngest of nine children. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon Scott-Harris; four brothers, Cottrell Marshall, Elijah Harris, York Harris, Jr. and Delton Harris; three sisters, Annie Lee Harris, Ozzie Mae Billups and Geneva Crayton. Howard received his education in Camden, Mississippi where he attended Velma Jenkins High School. He was a self-employed automobile mechanic and worked for over thirty years at Harris Garage in Kansas City, Missouri. He knew the Lord. He confessed to Christ at an early age and joined St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church in Pickens. Howard was a homebody and you could almost always find him at home relaxing in the basement. He loved fishing, playing dominoes, and barbequing while listening to the Blues. The love and bond he had with his pet dogs was unbreakable. Howard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He had a good heart and passion for helping others which he expressed through his love for working on cars, often repairing cars for a little bit of nothing. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Angela D. Harris; five sons, James Scott, Ronnie Scott, Marcus McDonald, Richard Sanders and Ronald Burrell; three daughters, Shrna Charles, Latasha Scott-Harris and Marquita McDonald; one brother, Simon Harris (Susie); two sisters, Bertha Oliver and Fannie Walker (Willie); eighteen grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 19, 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Community of Christ Church. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the church.
