Infant Jamel Dyshawn McDaniel, Jr. was born December 13, 2015, the twin of Janel McDaniel. Known as Baby Smelly, Jamall and Mel-Mel, his favorite thing was to suck on his pacifier and snuggle up with his brown teddy bear. He loved to hear his Grandma sing 'Come By Here Lord'. He loved to hear his Nana praying with him and he LOVED to snuggle in his Mama's arms. Jamel didn't like to be wet at all. He was loved by so many. Jamel departed this life on March 26, 2016 at Children's Mercy Hospital, to join his grandfather, Alvin James; great grandfather, Eric D. Butler; great grandmother, Quinlock Shore; great-great grandparents, Albert & Gloria Palode; and great uncle, Willie King, Jr. in heaven. Jamel leaves to cherish his precious memory: his parents, Jamel D. McDaniel, Sr.; mother, Taysha M. Ervine; grandparents, Sharonda Palode, Delmar Ervine and Danielle McDaniel; great grandparents, Mary Palode-Butler and Erma McDaniel; big brother, Edward Shelby; sister, Janel McDaniel; uncles, Steven Allen, Deleontay Ervine, Shaquille Allen, Dominic McDaniel and D'Adrian Freeman; aunts, DeKaya McDaniel, Dymund Jones, Janel McDaniel, Cheval Canady, Robin Brittine, Charonda Brittine, Sauvana Allen and Diamonine Ervine; and a host cousins and other relatives who loved him. Funeral services will be Friday, April 1, 1:00 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Brooking Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30-1:00 p.m. at the chapel.
