Jack Howard, 90, was born on January 19, 1928 in Morrow, LA to Liverpool and Lodie Howard. He was preceded in death by daughter, Barbara Ann Howard, son, Anthony N. Howard, and grandson Antonio B. Howard.
Jack was educated in the public schools of Morrow, LA. He was a member of Our Lady of Lords Catholic Church in Hitchcock/Sante Fe, TX since 1991. He was friends of Bill W. and Dr. Bob for over 46 years. He was also a previous member of the Knights of St. Peter Claver.
Jack was married to Mary L. Rideau on July 17, 1948. He retired from the United States Army in November, 1969. He was the owner of Howard & Sons Automotive Center for several years until he retired for a second time in 2000.
Jack never met a stranger. He was kind to everyone and always had words of wisdom to anyone who would listen. He believed in God first, his wife next, then family and close friends.
He departed this life on Tuesday, November 27, at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, KS.
He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Mary: sons: Andras (Mary) of Glenn Heights, TX, Perry of Kansas City, MO and Jack Stanley (Joy) of Independence, MO; daughters: Monica (David) of Rosharon, TX, Pamela (Sing) of Kansas City, MO, and Cheryl (Ty) of Concord, NC; brother Herbert and sister Lorena both of Texas City, TX; grandchildren: Danielle, Ronald, Steven, Sean, Brandon, LaTiesha, Andre, Marcel, Stephanie, David, Chloe, Cherrelle, Elijah, and Joshua; Antwanette and twenty-four great grandchildren; one great-great grandson, Ronnell and host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other family and friends.
Funeral service Friday, December 7, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation from 9:30 -11:00 a.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
