Obituary

Jacqueline Lee Burton was born September 15, 1931 to the union of Booker and Ethel Chandler in Kansas City, MO. She was educated in the Missouri Public School System. "Jack" or "Jackie" as she was so affectionately called was "THE ROCK!" She was delightful.

On Sunday, May 6, 2018 Jack was called home to be with the ancestors. Jack loved God and was a devout member of Restoration Christian Fellowship and was known as the "Church Mother".

Our mother never met a stranger. She had an infectious laugh and a spirit that drew others to her like a moth to a flame. When she stepped out in her garb she looked like a model on the cover of Vogue.

Jack supported her children in every endeavor whether it was birthday parties, baby showers, or BBQ's. She was happiest when surrounded by family. She had a passion for Pitty-Pat and Dominoes, and loved her grandbabies with all her heart, and they loved her too!

Mom worked her early years in the healthcare field affirming her love for people, and even worked as a Foster Grandmother through Volunteers of America serving in the Denver Public School System. She touched so many lives and will be remembered and sorely missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters Ethel Pearl Burton and Joan Maxine Evans; two brothers Fred Chandler and Booker Chandler Jr., and her youngest son, Shaun Montague Burton.

Left to cherish her wonderful memory and one of kind legacy are her children: Angela Tatum (Michael), Selva Jones, Linda Arbuthnot and Eddie Burton; one daughter-in-law, Sherrie Burton; 11 grandchildren: Cory Darton, India Clark, Courtney Bluford, Steve Jones II (Carmilya), Racquel Arbuthnot, Raphael "RJ" Arbutnot, Ciera Bluford, Christopher Littlejohn, Tania Butler, Alexis Butler, and Alanayah Burton; 10 great grandchildren; 6 siblings: Glenn Chandler (Margie), Sylvia Walker, Lois Whitley, Sheila Chandler, Sharron Burdette and Rosemary Jones (Lester); a very special friend, Suzanna Rodriguez; other relatives and many, many friends. Funeral services Saturday, May 19, 2:00 p.m. at Blue Hills Church of the Nazarene. Interment Leavenworth National Cemetery. Visitation 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
