James Edward Goines, 67, was born July 15, 1949 in Grady, Arkansas to Marion and Hortense (Barber) Goines. He was preceded in death a brother, Marion Walter Goines and nieces, Lorraine Goines and Anisa Deanne Williams. James was educated in the KCMO School District and was a graduate of Central High School. As a United States Army Special Forces veteran, he earned the Purple Heart medal before being honorably discharged. James was a gifted artist and singer. He was the most straight forward person that you would ever meet. James departed this life on June 19, 2017 at The Village of Carroll in Grandview, Missouri. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by three children, Nichole Goines, Tiphanie Goines and Dequindre Goines; two brothers, Donnie Goines and Leonard Goines (Brenda); three sisters, Sherry Williams (Leroy), Patricia Cooper (Artie) and Kelly Williams; eight grandchildren, Treveon, Neosha, Marvin Jr., Marcus, Nikko, Xander, Zion and Daelyn; three great grandchildren, Noah, Jaz'zay and Jahmir; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 28, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Leavenworth National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel.
