James Larry Hines, Jr., 34, was born to Arrow Carson and James Larry Hines, Sr. on January 7, 1982 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Lee Beasley; paternal grandmother, Dora Mae Hines; maternal grandfather, Zennie W. Walls; uncles, Smith Carson, Jr. Roscoe Carson and Carl Lee Watson; niece, Avery Browning and cousin, D'Shawn Clayton. Affectionately known as 'Packy' by all who knew and loved him, he was educated in the Kansas City School District. He furthered his education at Excelsior Springs Job Corp, where he received his HBI Certification. While James did not have a church home, he frequently worshiped at Friendship Baptist Church. James went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 17, 2016. He will be sorely missed. He leaves to cherish his memory: his father, James L. Hines, Sr.; mother, Arrow Carson; maternal grandmother, Velma Carson; brother, Curley Reedus; sisters, Letita Higgins, Swanita Carson and Veronica Carson; uncles, Girard Carson, Lovell Watson, Frank Hines, Virgil Hines and Craig Hines; aunts, Thelma Carson, Velma Carson, Barbra Carson, Betty White, Caroline Wright and Cynthia Hines; nephews & nieces, Anthony Mack, Ashley Mack, Tynisha Mack, Monesha Carson, Tyree Carson, Rahnesha Carson, Ronyae Davis, Chyna Smith, Kayden Browning, Maurice Murphy and Raquel Murphy; great nephews & nieces, Myhna Mack, Tyren Mack, H. Scales IV, Deveon Swinton, Tariq Porter and Mackenzie Scales; special cousin, Cynthia Clark; special friend, Tina Blackburn and her son, Devon Miles; and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 30, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel.
