Jerlene "Joy" Kemp-Price, 70, was born in Plumerville, Arkansas on June 2, 1947, the baby of four children born to the late Cassie and Mossie Lee Kemp. Joy gained her wings and went to her eternal reward on Monday, December 4, 2017. Along with her parents, Joy was preceded in death by her sister Helen Lee Kemp and best friend Joyce Williams.

Joy graduated from Manuel High School in 1964, and retained her Cosmetology license from the Votech Beauty School in 1965. After 40 years of immaculate service, Joy retired as a Beauty Advisor from Estee Lauder within Dillard's Department Store. Joy came extremely recommended and was a highly sought after beauty consultant extraordinaire.

Jerlene infamously named and affectionately known as "Jerk" by family, and "Joy" by her associates, was the adhesive that keep family, friends and colleagues together. Joy was an avid shopper and an impeccable host of family gatherings. Her impact on family and friends is indescribable and the "Joy" she brought to the lives of all is incomparable.

Celebrating her life, cherishing her memories, and continuing her legacy are her son and daughter, Donald Price, Jr. and Nicole Price; their father Donald Price, Sr. all of Overland Park, KS; brother, K.C. Kemp (Norma) of Okmulgee, Ok; sister, Charlene Kemp of Plumerville, AR and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services Tuesday, December 12, 12:00 p.m. at Memorial Church International. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
