Obituary

Jerry Jerom Robinson, Jr., the fourth child of Jerry and Rose (Dunn) Robinson, was born on June 16, 1950, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his father; sister, Geraldine Robinson, and son, Pili Robinson.

Jerry received his elementary education at Beacon Light SDA School on 12th and Euclid. He later attended Westport High School in the Kansas City, Missouri public school system where he was active in football and basketball.

Jerry was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Bessie Topps, and to this union three children were born, Anthony, Pili and Randy. Jerry and Bessie would have celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on February 28th.

Jerry grew up attending old Beacon Light SDA Church. He later rededicated his life to Christ and attended Linwood Boulevard SDA Temple where he proudly and faithfully served as a deacon for many years.

Jerry had several jobs since his youth and retired from McLane Food Service after 16 years. During his retirement until his health began to fail, he was the main caregiver for his son, Anthony, who suffered a debilitating stroke in 2014.

Jerry departed this life early Sunday morning, December 30, with his wife by his side until he took his last breath.

Jerry leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Bessie Robinson; sons, Anthony Robinson, Randy (Erin) Robinson, Parish S. Owens, and Salim Robinson; daughter-in-law, Felicia (Pili) Robinson; daughters, Malaiia (Reginald) Robinson-Collier, Jerreah Robinson, and Chanai (Louis) Robinson-Davis; his mother, Rose Robinson; brothers, Richard (Belinda) Heard, Melvin (Regina) Robinson, and Freddie Robinson; sisters, Florestine Gaskins and Antoinette Robinson, 17 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Memorial services Sunday, January 13, 12:00 p.m. at Linwood Boulevard SDA Temple. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
