Jerry Williams, 69, passed away from time to eternity on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Lee's Summit Medical Center. He was born on September 2, 1950 to the union of R. C. and Helen Williams in Holly Grove, Arkansas. He was blessed with three brothers (who one was his twin) and two sisters. His parents and a sister preceded him in death.
Jerry was educated in the Holly Grove, Arkansas public schools and was a graduate of Holly Grove High School class of 1968, he was the Valedictorian and Class President. After graduation he attended the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in accounting and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Jerry moved to Kansas City, after graduation and attended the University of Missouri, where he studied law and accounting, after passing the exam he received his Certified Public Accountant license. He later attended and completed Cosmetology and Real Estate school, after passing the exams he received his licenses and managed a cosmetology school and sold real estate.
Jerry became a partner with Ralph C. Johnson & Company CPA Firm, co-owner and accountant of Joyce's Day Care Center, co-founder and director of Joyce Williams University of Cosmetology, accountant for Joyce Williams Salon and Product Company, owner of Jerry Williams CPA Firm and a partner with Williams & Williams Realty.
Jerry accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Second Missionary Baptist Church of Grandview, MO. He also found great pleasure in mentoring and ministering the youth where he worked as a substitue teacher for the Hickman Mills School District.
In the seventies Jerry Williams met and married his intellectural counter part Joyce Walker, they have three children, two grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He enjoyed watching sports programs, especially the Kansas City Chiefs, reading, working and most of all traveling in his recreational vehicle (RV) with his family. He was in numerous organizations and served on several boards. Since his retirement , in 2009 he spent a lot of time at home surrounded by his family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Dr. Joyce Williams, two daughters, Unita, Kansas City, MO, Jerrica (his personal nurse) Lee's Summit, MO; son, Tommy, Grain Valley, MO; adopted daughter, Ranielle, Pine Bluff, AR; brother, C. U. Nunn (Clementine), Raymore, MO; sister, Dorothy Shumpert (Edwin), Puyallup, WA; two grandchildren, Darryl Manning (Sharon) Dallas, TX and Denia Bates (Jason), Kansas City, MO; two great granddaughters, Aria and Alauna, Kansas City, MO; a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, in laws, friends and neighbors.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 30, at 12:00 pm at Second Missionary Baptist church of Grandview, MO. Interment XII Gates Cemetery. Visitation 11:00am-12:00pm at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
