Jesse Drew, Jr., 83, was born May 30, 1932 to Jesse Sr. and Helen Maybelle Drew in Vian, Oklahoma. Jesse graduated from Vian High School and moved to Kansas City, Missouri in the mid-1950's where he met and married his future wife, Irene B. Bailey. He worked thirty-four years for the American Bakery Company until 1991. Jesse loved and cherished family. He enjoyed dressing well, cars, playing pool, music (blues & soul) and a good party. Jesse departed this life on May 15, 2016 at Research Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Willie Drew, Grover Drew, and Carl Drew; three sisters, Thedonia Gaines, Audrey Lee, and Rosalee Holmes; and a son, Gregory Drew. He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Irene B. Drew; children, Sandra Lewis, James J. Bailey (Judy), Wayne Drew (Ollie), Tony Drew, Robert Earl and Charles Gannaway; fourteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and countless nephews, nieces, cousins, other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 25, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m.at the chapel.
