Jimmie Lee Releford, 61, passed away on September 5, 2019 at the home. She was born February 27, 1958 in Kansas City, Missouri to James & Meredith Lovingood. She was preceded in death by her husband Perry Lee Releford, son Antonio Lovingood, daughter LaKeisha Lovingood, father and mother James & Meredith Lovingood, maternal grandparents George Slaughter and Geraldine Haney, brother James Lovingood Jr., and father & mother-in-law Freddie & Pearlie Mae Releford.
Jimmie graduated from Central High School in Kansas City, Missouri. She received Christ at an early age and attended Christ Temple Pentecostal Church in her youth. She was a member of Trinity Temple Church in Grandview, Missouri.
Jimmie met Perry in October of 1979, and they were later married on September 8, 1990. Jimmie was a very outgoing person. She nicknamed herself "Queen Bee", because she was always in control. She was often known as the neighborhood mom. She mentored and raised countless youth. She always opened up her home and treated them like they were one of her children. Jimmie was outspoken, always told you like it was, even if you didn't like it. Through it all she still loved and accepted you for who you were.
Jimmie was employed as a staffing coordinator for many years. In her later years she was employed at Dallas Love Field Airport.
Jimmie leaves to cherish her memories and mourn her passing: three sons Perry Dixon of Blue Springs, MO, Terry Lovingood and Joshua Ellison both of Kansas City, MO; five daughters Ebony Lovingood of Dallas, TX, Portia Riley (Torium) of Grandview MO, Essence Lovingood of Kansas City, MO, Tamika Lovingood of Raytown, MO, and Malissa Walton (Vondell) of Kansas City, MO; two brothers Dwayne Lovingood (Renee) of Kansas City, MO and Craig Lovingood, of Kansas City, MO; two sisters Mary Malone of Raytown, MO and Karen Brooks of Kansas City, MO; special friends Shanielle Redmon, Beverly McGary, Michelle Bailey, Stephen Collins, Eddie Stewart, Rochelle Conley and Camille Wates; 28 grandchildren and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services Saturday, September 14, 1:00 p.m. at Victorious Life Church. Private disposition. Visitation 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
