Obituary

John L. Jamison, 60, was born May 13, 1956 to the union of Robert Caper and Lou Eddie Jamison in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Both parents; one brother, Robert Caper; two sisters, Eddie L. Sharp and Bernie Caper all preceded him in death. John was educated in the Kalamazoo, Michigan Public Schools and attended Loy Norrix High School. He later moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he made his home. John was united in marriage to the former Ms. Linda Brown and two sons were born to this union. The marriage was later dissolved. John worked in the construction field for many years. He later became a mover for North American Van Lines. John departed this life on April 27, 2017. He was greatly loved and will be missed by all whose life he touched. He leaves to cherish his memory: two sons, Jason Jamison (Laneisha) and John A. Brown both of Kansas City, MO; one daughter, Shawnrite James of Kalamazoo, MI; two brothers, Sammie Caper (Margaret) and James Caper (Trish Anderson) both of Kansas City, MO; one sister, JoeAnn Caper-Jamison, Kalamazoo, MI; eight grandchildren, Monisha Clark, Danteavis Tedford, Mikiesha Clark, Alyssia Smith, Samare James, Jashawn James, Armani Brown and Jeremiah Brown; two great grandchildren, Rahmir Edmonds and Cyniah Washington; brother-in-law, James Nicholson, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Friday, May 12, 2:00 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
