Our beloved husband, father, brother, friend, and fellow firefighter, Captain John Henry Parison, passed away on November 17, 2023, at 1:15 a.m. John was born February 23, 1975, to the late Josephine and John Parison Jr. in Kansas City, Missouri.

He was the second of five children.

John loved his family, and his community so much that he dedicated over 21 years to the Kansas City Fire Department. He served as a Firefighter in suppression, Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF), an EMT, a Fire Apparatus Operator (FAO), a mentor, counselor to young firefighters, and strived to be an expert in his field.

John was pinned Captain as a Firefighter for his faithful service on November 15, 2023. One of his proudest moments was to pin his son John Parison IV as a third-generation firefighter.

John was a devoted husband and father to four children including one bonus daughter.

He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs football fan. He got his love of cooking from his mother and shared this passion with his fellow fire brothers and sisters in various fire stations. He was famous for his fried chicken (Fried Chicken Friday's).

John attended Northeast High School and graduated in 1993. In July 2002, he graduated from the fire academy and in September 2015 he received his paramedic certificate, adding certification to his outstanding career.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

John leaves to cherish in his loving memory his wife Jenel, his children: John, Cheyenne, Amethyst, and Bonus Daughter, Shanae'; mother-in-law (Mom) Rita; brothers Tremayne, William, and Kenneth; his sisters: Tammy, Xzavia, and Valea. His dogs Jaxon and Xena, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and cherished friends.
