John William
Franklin Jr.
Nov 3, 1962 — Apr 18, 2023
I was born John William Franklin Jr. to the union of John W. Franklin Sr. and Faye Ann Franklin on November 3, 1962, in Monticello, Arkansas. I later converted to Islam and changed my name to Sa'id Abdul-Hakim.
My father preceded me in death. I moved from Arkansas to Kansas City, Missouri as a little boy. I attended grade school and high schools in Kansas City, and enlisted in the United States Marine Corp.
I was able to see the world as a Marine, but my true love was when I was a Barber at Seven Oaks. I spent many years as a top-notch barber with A-list clientele. I ensured that my customers left me crispy and clean each time. I decided to try other things and ended my years as a truck driver.
I leave to cherish my memory: My loving and devoted mother Faye Franklin who helped build me into the man I was. My children, my sisters Romanda Franklin (Avia Ramsey and Autumn Purnell), Carolyn Franklin (Jamel, Keuana, and Charlie), Bama Franklin (Ebony Brewer, Rodney Daniels Jr.) and my brother Cedric Franklin. (Sinyas, Harper and soon to make an appearance Casyon).
