John Rosedel Winn, 81, was born November 9, 1936 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Rev. Stafford Winn, Sr. and Louise Winn. John attended Guthrie Public Schools. Following graduation he was employed as a warehouseman, and joined the United States Navy shortly thereafter, being honorably discharged after four years of service. After moving to Kansas City, Missouri he sought employment and was appointed to the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department in 1970. During his appointments he was a member of the S.W.A.T. team, but other assignments included North Patrol Division, Northeast Patrol, East Patrol and Central Patrol, retiring from the Report Central Section of the Kansas City Missouri Police Department in 1992. John departed this life on October 9, 2018. Preceding him in death were his son Anthony Winn, his parents and seven siblings. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory: his wife, JoAnn Winn; a son, Christopher Armstrong; a very special daughter-in-law, Iris Armstrong; a brother George Winn; sisters, Reba Patmon and Evelyn Fize (Willie) both of Oklahoma, and Aurora Winn of Kansas City, Missouri; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Family hour will be held Saturday, October 20, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors.
