Johnie Louise "Sugar" Carter 93, was born on October 31, 1926, in Williamson County, Franklin, TN, to the late Adam and Louise Brown Pointer. She was preceded in death by her husband,Melvin "L.V." Carter, a son Gregory A. Carter, Sr., her siblings, Nellie Oakley, Pauline Hughes, Marie Head, George and Adam Pointer.

She departed this life on January 9, 2020 at her home.

Those left to cherish her memories: daughters, Carolyn "Karen" Jackson (Herbie) and Faye Carter; grandsons, De'ron , Dion Jackson, Gregory Carter, Jermaine Carter; great grandchildren; one sister, Lillie Dickson; a host of nephews, nieces, other extended family and friends. We pray your soul is at Peace…we will truly, truly miss you.
