Obituary

Johnny L. Felder, Jr., 39, of Raytown, Missouri, was born May 6, 1977 in Kansas City, Missouri to Johnny Sr. and Annetta Felder. Johnny passed away on August 15, 2016. After graduating from Westport Senior High, Johnny continued his education by earning his Bachelor's degree from Oral Roberts University and a Master's degree from Benedictine College. He was well-studied and an avid researcher. He was also passionate about improving the life of everyone he met. Depositing a positive and favorable contribution into the account of humanity was always a top priority for Johnny. He aspired to own his own business, inspire youth through motivational speaking, and keep the legacy of Ewing Marion Kauffman alive by giving back to his community. The lives he impacted through his professional career at the Kauffman Foundation, the Kansas City Public Schools, and within his community are far too many to mention. When not working hard outside of his home, Johnny enjoyed health and fitness as a part of his daily lifestyle including refereeing high school basketball, as well reading whenever possible. More importantly to Johnny, than any other area of his life, was the love he had for his immediate family. He endeared his beloved wife, Sonya, to whom he was a dedicated husband and his precious children, Trinity and Johnny III (Trey). Johnny is survived by his wife, Sonya; daughter, Trinity; son, Johnny III (Trey); father and mother, Johnny Sr. and Annetta; siblings and their spouses, Christine and Rafael, Daniel and Shara, Michael and Ashley, Timothy and Kenisha, and Robert David and Tierra; his grandmother, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and numerous friends. Funeral services will be Monday, August 22, 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Church International. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
