Josephine Jenkins, 93, was born March 1, 1923 to Vincent and Eva Wright in Miami, Missouri. She was raised in Keytesville, Missouri with her siblings Beatrice, Raymond, Willard and Marie. Josephine attended Dalton Vocational High School in Dalton, Missouri. In 1942, she married Marcus Collins, Sr. and to their union was born a son, Marcus Jr. and a daughter, Mary Jane. She later united in marriage to Ladell Jenkins in 1960 until his death in 1986. Josephine accepted Christ and was a member of Faith Mission Church until her health would no longer allow her to attend. For years she worked for Modern Arts Lamp Company in efforts to raise her two children. Josephine departed this earthly life on March 13, 2016. She will be sorely missed. She leaves to cherish her memory: one son, Marcus Collins, Jr. (Phyllis); one daughter, Mary Jane Miles (Dan); one sister, Marie Boyd; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Collins, Lanell Goodwin and Dena Lofton; a host great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Monday, March 21, 12:00 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the chapel.
