Obituary

On January 13, 2017, Joshua Cobb went to be with the Lord in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born February 28, 1934, the son of Venson and Viola Cobb in Marshall, Texas. Josh was preceded in death by his father and mother; five brothers: Venson Cobb, Jr., Homer Cobb, Orenzo Cobb, Perry Cobb, Harold Ray Cobb; four sisters, Mable Cobb, Loretha O'Neal, Velma Cobb and Mary Cobb; two sons, Sean Cobb, Sr. and Pastor Dale Dangerfield, Sr; and one niece: Evelyn O'Neal. Josh was educated in the public schools in Texas and Kansas City, Missouri. He was proud of his military service in the United States Navy. He worked at Crane Plumbing for many years and was also a truck driver, master electrician and plumber. Josh was a quiet man of few words, full of wisdom and love. Josh dedicated his life to Christ at an early age and was a member of There Is Hope Fellowship Center, under the leadership of Pastor T.L. Dangerfield. He served as a faithful Deacon at Fellowship Center Church of God In Christ, under the leadership of Dr. Frank L. Wright, Jr. Deacon Cobb had a warm smile and brought joy to everyone at church. Josh married Merle L. Dangerfield in 1967, in Kansas City, Missouri. Those left to cherish his memories are a stepson, Donald Dangerfield, Topeka, KS; stepdaughter, Dr. T.L. Dangerfield, Belton, MO; two daughters-in-law, Nicole Cobb (Sean), Kansas City, MO and Rose Dangerfield (Dale), Topeka, KS; three grandsons, Sean Joshua Jamison Cobb, II Warrensburg, MO, Nicholas Jordan Cobb, Kansas City, MO and Pastor D.J. Dangerfield (Stephanie), Chanute, KS; one granddaughter: Chondra Dawn Dangerfield, Naples, FL; one sister-in-law, Betty Cobb (Perry) Kansas City, MO; nephews, Sam O'Neal, Henry O'Neal and Bryan Cobb; nieces, Patricia O'Neal, Mesquite, TX, Marilyn Matthews (Landara) Raytown, MO, Kimberly Cobb, Shontae Cobb and Kellie Cobb all of Kansas City, MO; a host of great grandchildren, other nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Graveside services Wednesday, February 22, 12:30 p.m. at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
