Obituary

Joshua Alverez Wallace 1994-2019 Joshua Alverez Wallace, 25, of Kansas City, MO was born in Kansas City, KS on March 2, 1994 to Evelyn Rhodes and John Wallace Sr. He passed away unexpectedly on December 17, 2019. He attended High School at F L Schlage and later graduated from Parkhill High School. Joshua was a honor roll student, excelled in academics and played basketball and football during his tenure in school. Joshua also received his education at Western University. He served honorably in the United States Army where he received numerous certificates for academic achievement, sharp shooter, collision repair, and conduct. After his tour of duty in the United States Army, Joshua moved to Oklahoma City and continued his profession in the auto industry, displaying his skills in auto repair and problem solving.

Joshua enjoyed his life to the fullest through simple pleasures: spending time with his friends and family, playing basketball, reading books, working on cars, and working on electronics and technical issues. He had a great sense of humor and a strong ability to bring joy and laughter to everyone he had contact with. Joshua openly shared his excitement about the numerous times that he read the entire KJV of the Bible.

Joshua was preceded in death by: his maternal great-grandparents Leo Betts, Elbert McCullough and Addie B. Kelley and grandparents Verlee McCullough, Johnetta Joyce Wallace and John Rhodes Sr, and his cousin Claude Hudson Sr. Joshua is survived by his parents: John Wallace and Evelyn and John Rhodes; his brothers Jobert Lockridge, John A. Wallace, John F. Wallace Jr, and J'aire Rhodes; his sisters Heaven Elishia Rhodes, Cialan Rhodes and Kristian Rhodes; Great-Grandmother Evelyn Betts, and Grandmother Bobbie Mccullough and Grandfather James Scaife, plus a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family, friends, and others.

The family invites you to attend the Home-going celebration at the Metropolitan Baptist Church, 953 Washington Blvd in Kansas City, KS on Monday, December 30, 2019. The visitation will be held from 8-9 am followed by a service from 9-10 am and burial at the Leavenworth Cemetery at 11:00 am. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and condolences.
