On December 25, 1952, Joyce Yvonne Mosby was born in Chicago, Ill to the union of Herman Sr. and Flossie Mosby. She was the second oldest of seven children. On October 31, 1998, Joyce married Jerry Trotter, who along with her parents and three uncles, preceded her in death. Joyce accepted Christ at an early age, attending various churches throughout the area. Anyone who knew Joyce knew she loved to dance, read, have fun at the casinos and hang out with family and close friends. Joyce attended the Kansas City Public School District and graduated from Manual High School in 1971 as the school's Queen and Basketball Statistician. Joyce started her career at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She also worked over thirty years in the Municipal Court System, in Courtroom 'F', retiring 2008 and leaving behind loyal and dear friends, Mrs. Ozella Hampton, Georgetta, and Mr. and Mrs. James Deatring whom she continued to work for until her death. Joyce departed this life on August 30, 2017 at the home. She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Tironda J. Mosby and Yolanda Gardenhire; five granddaughters, Courtney Mosby-Gee, Tiesha Mosby-Gee, Ashli Mosby, Alanna Mosby-Gardenhire and Armoni Mosby-Sheard; seven great grandchildren, Ni'Khia, Tyi'Ronn, Stevon, Brandon, Mariah, Leeah and Duane Jr.; two brothers, Herman Mosby, Jr. (Rhonda) and Michael Mosby (Thelma); four sisters, Barbara Johnson, Jacquelyn Mosby, Carrie Rolf (Richard) and Cynthia McConnell (Reggie); one aunt, Violene Courtney. She also leaves several other family members and lots of friends including lifelong special friends, David and Erma Morgan, Leonard Gee and Gregory Gardenhire.
