Obituary

The family of Juanita Gordon would like to announce the passing of their loved one.

Juanita Gordon was born on August 28,1946 in Blytheville, Arkansas, the daughter,

of Deola Garner and Merit (M.D.) Willis. Juanita received her education in the

Kansas City, MO Public School District where she attended Central High School.

She accepted Christ as her Lord and Saviour at an early age and attended Trinity

Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Amos (A.F.)

Adams. She was employed by Our Lady of Mercy Nursing Home and Midwest Hotel

both formally located in Kansas City, MO for about 12 years. Her beautiful spirit was,

loved by her co-workers and friends, of whom she loved to affectionately joke with.

Juanita's hobbies included listening to music-old school songs, and gospel music.

She loved to spend time shopping with her sisters and watching her soap operas.

Most importantly she truly loved spending quality time with the Lord and with her sons,

grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family and friends. Juanita departed this life on

Friday, March 22, 2024, at the University Health Truman Medical Center of Kansas City, MO.

She was preceded in death by both her parents, Deola Garner and Merit (M.D.) Willis

and her son Shannon J. Gordon. Two brothers; Gary and Frank Willis, two sisters; Charlene

Carter and Lillie Mae Willis, all of Kansas City, MO. and additional family members of whom

preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Calvin B. Gordon of Kansas City, MO,

two sons: Leslie (LaChariece) M. Gordon and David L. Gordon, Sr. both of Kansas City, MO,

Four sisters; Arlene (Lloyd) Fields, Dorothy Stringer, Teresa (Huril) Redmond, and Delores

Haley, all of Kansas City, MO, One brother, John (Delores) E. Willis of Kansas City, MO, her

grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a host of many other family members, friends

and loved ones.
