Judy was born in Kansas City, MO on January 9, 1961, to Velma Roberts and Carl Watson.
Judy was the middle child of 8 siblings. Growing up in Kansas City July was loved by all. She would always have her siblings back through thick and thin. It wouldn't be uncommon for her to have family over getting a jerry curl or some fresh finger waves.
Judy enjoyed collecting antiques from garage sales or consignment shops. Everyone enjoyed her company. She never married however she kept her children close. Whenever she got a chance, she loved traveling to visit them.
Judy held various jobs and always like to stay busy. Her main hobbies were going to church, since she always had faith in God. She enjoyed going for walks and exercising whenever she got a chance.
Judy moved her family to Minnesota in 1991 to get a fresh start. She worked at Star Tribune in the environmental service industry. She always had dreams of starting her own business in the house cleaning service. Unfortunately, due to health reasons this wasn't achieved.
Judy loved her kids, grandkids and family. She was known to always keep it real no matter what. Judy will be surely missed by friends, family and all.
Preceding her in death is her father Carl Watson, mother Velma Roberts, brother Curtis Phillips, 3 sisters Ann Hopson, Essie and Denise Watson
She leaves to cherish her memories her only daughter Jocyln Phillips-Jones (Robert), sons Blair Phillips (Semika), Maceo Phillips (Latasha), Lamar and Cedric Phillips; her siblings Allen Phillips (Dedra), Anita Nelson (Marshall), Marshall Phillips, Stanley Phillips (Melissa), Rita Phillips, Thomas Watson, and Darryl Roberts (Denise). 15 grandchildren, and a great grandchild.
Funeral service will be held Monday, February 22 at 2:30 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors Chapel. Visitation 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Masks are required. Services entrusted to Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors.
