Obituary

Ka'ana Lei Brown was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to her loving mother, Rachel Maggard (Raman). Surrounded by the embrace of her close-knit family, she spent her early years nurtured by her Papa, James Raman, and her Grandma, Sera Drevu, as well as her uncles, Raphael Raman and Ruben Raman, and her aunt, Brittney Slade (Raman). These formative years shaped her into the vibrant, strong-willed, and compassionate woman she would become.

Ka'ana later moved to Missouri, where she attended school in the Independence School District and built meaningful connections in the restaurant industry. Above all, she took immense pride in being a devoted mother to her young daughter, Isis (Leiana) Scott. She also lovingly helped care for her younger siblings, always stepping into the role of protector, supporter, and guide.

Those who knew Ka'ana will remember her as outgoing, spirited, and deeply loyal to her family. She found joy in life's simple pleasures—sharing meals, celebrating every holiday with enthusiasm, and especially indulging in her love for Halloween, her favorite time of year. Her passion for music and movies filled her days with light and brought joy to all who shared those moments with her. Her future was bright, and she was looking forward to building a beautiful life for herself and her daughter.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved daughter, Isis (Leiana) Scott; her mother, Rachel Maggard and step father Darrel Maggard Sr.; her grandparents, Jim Raman, Sera Drevu, and Nellie Raman; and her siblings, Sera (Yaca) Dejesus, Isaiah (Big Boy) Dejesus, Sundri (Nani) Dejesus, Jimmy Dejesus, Anteria Maggard, and Lucinda (Lucy) Maggard; along with her cousins, Lisa Raman and Roman Raman. She also leaves behind a host of extended family members and friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts.

Ka'ana is preceded in death by her great maternal grandparents, George Raman, Sundri Raman, and Anita Gonsalves.

Ka'ana's warm spirit, unwavering love, and unforgettable presence will be missed beyond measure and remembered always.
