Obituary

Karen Ann Miles-Cole, 54, KCMO, passed away on May 12, 2016. She was born September 5, 1961 to the union of the late Theodore and Dorothy Roddy. She was the youngest of six siblings. Her brother, Michael Miles; uncles, Jacob Middlebrooks and George Middlebrooks; aunts, Mary Perkins and Helen Middlebrooks all preceded her in death. Karen was educated in the Raytown School District and attended St. Vincent Private Schools. She was formerly employed at Hyatt Regency Hotel until the walkway collapsed in 1981. Fortunately she was not at work that day! She dedicated eighteen years of service in the City of KCMO State building for Woodley Cleaning Service until her departure to be with the Lord. Karen was an active choir member and the head nurse for Pastor Albert Smith at Pentecostal Deliverance Church of God in Christ, KCKS and for Pastor Williams and Word of Deliverance. She was currently an active member of Life Changing Church of the Living God, under the leadership of Bishop Everett and First Lady Hunter. Karen was united in marriage to Charles Cole, Sr. She was very artistic and enjoyed drawing, coloring and mastering crossroad puzzles as a hobby. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, who she loved to the moon and back. She leaves to cherish her memory; her husband, Charles Cole, Sr.; children, Lamar Miles, Elisha Gatson (Matthew), Charles Cole, Jr. and Lloyd McGee (Tanisha); brothers, Donald Miles (Debra) and Ronald Miles; sister, Verna Miles; thirteen grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 21, 11:00 a.m. at Eastside Baptist Church. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church.
