Obituary

Deacon Kenneth Leon Richardson, 80, passed away at the home on December 16, 2019. He was born May 8, 1939 in Kansas City, Missouri-Westside to Solomon and Trolla Richardson, who both preceded him in death. He was the ninth child. He was also preceded in death by four brothers and seven sisters.

Kenneth attended Kansas City Missouri public schools and graduated from the University of San Francisco with a B.S. and University of Phoenix with an MBA. Kenneth retired from the United States Military, serving in the Army, Navy and Coast Guard as a Chief Petty Officer after 30 years of service. He retired from the Federal Government in 2002 after 20 years of service.

Kenneth was born and raised in the church all his life. As a child he attended Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Bishop Jim E. Abernathy. At the time of his sunset he was a longtime member of the Shiloh Institutional Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Pastor Brian McLeod.

He leaves to cherish his memory: three sons Eric Richardson, Richard Richardson, Paul Richardson and one daughter, Donna Beg. He will also be missed by a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, special friends, as well as his social club family and the Shiloh Institutional Church family.

Funeral services Saturday, December 21, 12:00 p.m. at Shiloh Institutional Church of God in Christ. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
