Kimberly Sherrie Gladney, 31, passed away on July 15, 2019 at Research Medical Center. She was born on August 31, 1987 to the union of Kim L. Gladney and Sherrie L. (Whitney) Gladney in Kansas City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, George Price; paternal grandfather, Aaron Wilson; paternal grandmother, Eller B. Riley; maternal grandfather, Harry O. Whitney; maternal grandmother, Marva A. Whitney; paternal great grandmother, Gladys Darrough; maternal great grandparents, Ray and Willa Mae Manning; brother, Rahmon Woods; three uncles, Charles Whitney, Carl Whitney and Rayford Manning; and two aunts, Delores Caldwell and Joyce Shurn.
Kimberly was educated in the public schools of Grandview, Missouri and was a graduate of the Rainbow Center, class of 2008. While in school Kimberly was always dressed to impress allowing her to be named the best dress student all throughout her school days. Fashion was her middle name. Kimberly accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Emanuel A. Johnson. She later united with Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, now Memorial Church International, under the leadership of Bishop Dr. Larry B. Aiken. Kimberly was a fun loving person and enjoyed spending time with her Papa, brother, nephew and nieces. She participated in the Special Olympics, where she ran track until her health began to fail. She enjoyed horseback riding, walking, bowling and listening to her Grandma Marva's music. Even though she couldn't speak she was very helpful and did what she could to assist others. She will always be remembered as our "Angel". She leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Sherrie L. Whitney of Grandview, MO; father, Pastor Kim L. Gladney (Denice) of Kansas City, MO; two brothers, Standford Wheeler of Kansas City, MO and Damon Gladney of Fort Smith, AR; sister, Rochelle High of Kansas City, MO; God-parents, Ronnie and Toni Biggins of Kansas City, MO; special grandmother, Georgia Odum; God-brothers and sisters, Toure Biggins, Hassain Biggins, Alena Biggins, Ashley Biggins, Alyshia Biggins and a host uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services Saturday, July 27, 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Church International. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E.
