Diann was reared in the fear of the Lord and professed her salvation at Jamison Temple at an early age. Throughout her early years she was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri School District, and graduated from Central High School in 1976. Upon graduation, Diann later attended the Kansas City Business College completing her professional certificate and working in many places including, being a paraprofessional for the Grandview School District.

Diann later met and married the love of her life, Pastor Clifford W. Bell, Sr. in 1977. To this union five children were born: Clifford Jr. (deceased), Eric Dwayne, Aaron Deshawn, Kenneth Edward, and their miracle child many years later, Thomas Bradford. Diann and Clifford attended Community Mission Baptist Church under Charles D. Bell, Sr. They were also under the leadership of Pastor Willie C. In 1996, they later returned to what is now called, Community Praise Worship & World Outreach Center, when Clifford was called to pastor. Diann was the First Lady for seventeen years until the death of her husband, Pastor Clifford W. Bell, Sr.

Diann loved cooking and spending time with her family, especially her fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was a leader for many years of the Operations Family Feast during the Thanksgiving Holiday. Diann also served as a Sunday school teacher, a Deaconess, and was on the Usher Board. Diann later became an ordained minister. She had that special gift of planning weddings, funerals, and decorating the bulletin board at church.
