Larry E. Colston, 70, passed away on July 8, 2020 at St. Luke's Hospice House. He was born on March 13, 1950 in Kansas City, Kansas to Leevan and Freddie Colston. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a younger brother, Andre Colston.

Larry received his formal education from the Kansas City Public Schools. He graduated from Paseo High School class of 1969. Larry accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age. He was a member of the Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church.

Larry was employed at Ingram Entertainment until his retirement. He was an avid music collector. He owned a massive library of R & B Old School music stemming back to the 70's, 80's and 90's. Larry enjoyed friends and family gatherings, playing cards, listening to music and having a great time.

Larry never met a stranger. If you needed anything, he was always there to lend a helping hand. He had a great sense of humor and kept you laughing. There were many wonderful aspects to Larry's life and many ways that he touched the lives of those he met. He will be remembered as a wonderful brother, a great friend , a generous uncle and cousin.

Larry leaves to cherish his memory, three sisters, Lenise Jamierson (Vince), Lee's Summit, MO, Cheryl Colston, Kansas City, MO and Karla Asberry (Mark), Grandview, MO; one brother, Ricky Colston, Kansas City, MO; favorite cousin, Valinda Fisher-Hobson, Overland Park, KS; a special and close friend, Lela Dunmore, Kansas City, MO and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services Sunday, July 19, 2:00 pm at the Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors Chapel. Private disposition. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors.
