LaTangia Nichelle Bowers, 49, KCMO, passed away on August 24, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospice House. She was born December 9, 1967 to the union of Emmett Bowers and Helen (Cooks) Bowers in Kansas City, Missouri. Affectionately known as 'Chelle' by her family and friends, LaTangia was a lifelong area resident, receiving her education in the Kansas City Missouri public schools. She worked various jobs throughout the Kansas City area. Chelle was a loving companion, mother and sister who never met a stranger. She always assisted others in need whether it be providing food and shelter, or even protection to those who were in distress and abusive relationships. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved her. Now welcoming her to her home new home are her loving father, Emmett D. Bowers; mother, Helen Irene Bowers; grandfather, Louis Cooks; grandmother, Irene Cooks; three siblings who passed at birth. She leaves to cherish her memory: fiance', Robert Pouncil; seven children, Demetrius Bowers, Steven Bowers, Kendra Thompson, Precious Ramsey, Erica Ramsey, LaKenya Johnson and Brian Bowers all of Kansas City, MO; one brother, Samuel B. Cooks (Sirena); one sister, Audrey Marshall (John); nephew, James Cooks (Dana); two nieces, Lynnesia Cooks and Willisa Cooks (Olee) all of Houston, TX; nine grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services Friday, September 8, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Blue Ridge Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel.
