LaVerne Simpson was born to Dwight McNeil and Irma R. Agosto on January 3, 1971. She is preceded in death by her nephew Malik Jackson, her sister Michelle Jackson, her uncle Elijah Pickens Jr, grandmother Hattie E. Pickens of Gallion, AL, Grandfather Elijah Pickens, Sr of Gallion, AL.
LaVerne later moved to Atlanta,Georgia where she was baptized in the name of Jesus at Jesus Name Pentecostal Church, under the leadership of Elder Bennie Mitchell, Sr, Pastor. In 1989, she moved to Fort Sheridan, Illinois where she attended Living Waters Pentecostal Church, North Chicago Illinois. She graduated from Highland Park High School in Highland Park, Illinois. She attended college at College of Lake County Illinois,Grayslake, Illinois and completed her education in Medical Coding /Billing and Business Administration. She became a member of the Jesus Name Church in Waukegan, Illinois under the leadership of Pastor John Caples, where she sang the praises of the Lord in the Jesus Name Choir. Later in life, she moved to Kansas City, Kansas in 2020 and became a member of New Jerusalem Apostolic Church, where she also sang with the Praise Team.
She leaves to cherish her memories: mother SFC (Retired) Irma R. Agosto of Kansas City, KS, a devoted father Dwight McNeil and (Susie) of Gallion, AL, a Stepfather SSG (Retired) Andrés Agosto of Killeen,TX, two Sisters: Andréa Agosto of San Diego, CA, and Cynthia Jones (Bobby) of Gallon AL, one brother: Christopher McNeil (Melekia) of Demopolis AL, her friend and business partner Dennis Perrine of Kansas City, KS, her best friend, Martha Nolen, adopted sister Rosa Hobbs and adopted nephews Royal Smith and Josiah Jones, godchildren, Byron Saunders of Kansas City, KS, adopted sons in love Tim Wright and Marvin Reddick of Hays, KS, adopted Aunt Alma Ocasio-Santiago of Kansas City, KS, a nephew, Xavier A. Agosto Sr. (Keyanna), Greensboro, NC, nieces, Areana Jackson of Kansas City, KS, Alesia Jackson of San Diego, CA, great nephew, Xavier A. Agosto, Jr., great nieces, Nina Michelle Agosto, Alora Michelle Porter of Kansas City, KS, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends.
