Leon H. Cooper, 70, KCMO, passed away on October 27, 2016. He was born February 4, 1946 to Leon W. Cooper and Erna M. (Johnson) Cooper in Warrensburg, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Albert Cooper, Darrell Cooper, Leonard Cooper and Chester Cooper. Leon received his education in Warrensburg. He later moved to Kansas City, Missouri and became an electrician and worked for Mobay Electrical Company from which he retired. He was a member of the Oratho Temple #2 of Kansas City, Missouri from 1991-1994, where he was the second highest of the Grand Master's. Leon was united in marriage to Mariann Marie Page and their union was blessed with eight children, Diamond, Leon Jr., Byron, Sandy, Candy, Regina, Monica and Rolanda. Leon loved to have fun and surround himself with happy people. He was very outgoing but often found pleasure in the serenity of fishing and reading cowboy books as well. Leon also enjoyed playing dominoes, sports and attended Potentate Balls. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Mariann M. Cooper; children, Diamond S. Cooper, Leon Cooper, Jr., Byron Cooper, Sandy Cooper, Candy Cooper, Regina Johnson, Monica Johnson and Rolanda Johnson; siblings, Barbara L. Nix (James), Pearl L. Fudge, Lawrence Cooper, James Cooper, Gary Cooper and Jackie Cooper; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 5, 2:00 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Private disposition. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
