In the New Testament James said, 'Life is but a mist that appears for a little while then vanishes.' So it was with Leon - a son, brother, father, uncle, cousin and friend. Leon Harris III, 67, was born July 11, 1948 to Lonnie and Leon Harris, Jr. His father, Leon Harris, Jr. and sister, Sheila D. Harris both preceded him in death. Leon was educated in the Kansas City Missouri School District and graduated from Central High School in 1966. He was employed by the Hallmark Corporation and shortly thereafter went on to serve in the United States Army. After returning to the States Leon returned to hold various positions within Hallmark for thirty plus years. He volunteered for a number of charities and enjoyed fishing during his leisure time until his health began to fail. Leon departed this life on May 4, 2016. He will be deeply missed. Harris, Higginsville, MO, Etheline Hill, KCMO and Margaret A. Spearman, KCMO; special uncle, James A. (Dee) Hanner, St. Petersburg, FL; special friends, Frank and Bessie Flint, along with a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 14, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Private disposition. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E.
