Leroy Brown, 87, passed away on October 16, 2017. He was born August 2, 1931 in Marks, Mississippi to George and Zella Brown. Preceding him in death were two wives, his parents and thirteen siblings.

Leroy attended the public schools of Marks, Mississippi. Following graduation he joined the United States Army being honorably discharged after two years of services.

He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory: his son, Maurice Scott of Lee's Summit, MO; five stepsons, Willie McKinzy of Kansas City, MO, Robert "Tony" Vickers of Oakland, CA, Leonard McKinzy (Andrean), Joseph McKinzy, and Marvin McKinzy all of Kansas City, MO; two stepdaughters, Catherine Hargrove (Roosevelt) and Lorraine McKinzy both of Kansas City, MO; one brother, Sammie Brown (Mandy) of Kansas City, MO; two sisters, Bernice Jones (Julius) and Ella M. Cathren both of Indianapolis, IN; a host of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services Friday, October 26, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Leavenworth National Cemetery. Visitation 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
