Lewis Alonzo Bowlin, 92, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2020. He was born August 22, 1927 to the union of Lorenzo Lewis Bowlin and Marguerite (Harrison) Bowlin in Kansas City, Kansas. His parents, one brother, five sisters and one grandaughter preceded him in death.

Lewis was educated in the Kansas City, Kansas public schools and was a graduate of Sumner High School. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

Lewis was employed at the age of 18 with the Board of Public Utilities (BPU). He was the second black meter reader, and he later became the manager of meter readers until he retired after 44 years of service. He was a loving father, brother and uncle and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He enjoyed shopping for beautiful furniture and fine art.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Rochelle M. Clark, Taylorsville, UT; nephew/son and caregiver, Gregory Phillips, a host of nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nephews other relatives and friends.
