Lillian Ester Franklin was born to George Buckner and Virlee Harper Buckner on October 20, 1926 in Boonville Missouri. Lillian was educated in the Boonville Missouri public school system. She then attended nursing school and graduated from KU Medical Center as a licensed practical nurse. She was employed and retired from KU Medical Center with over 20 years of service. She was married to Douglas Franklin who also preceded her in death. Lillian attended Oak Ridge Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Ricky D. Turner. She loved to shop. On November 8, 2021 Lillian passed away peacefully at home. She leaves to cherish her memory a son Jeffery Lewis of Belton, MO, daughter Sondra M. Diggs of Shawnee, Ks, and a sister Francis Bibbs. 10 Grandchildren, 14 Greatgrandchildren, 6 Great Great-grandchildren, nieces, cousins, relatives, and friends. Graveside service will be held 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Services provided by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors Chapel.
