Obituary

Linda J. (Fleming) Carter, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2019. She was born to Pastor Lloyd G. Fleming and Bobbie Fleming who preceded her in death.

Linda graduated from Wyandotte High School and was baptized at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas. She was a diligent member of Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church in Merriam, Kansas where she belonged until her untimely death.

Linda received her Bachelor of Science from Kansas State Teacher College and went on to work for UMKC Center of Academic Development as the Program Manager/Director of the Upward Bound Program.

Linda was married to the late, Earl R. Cotten who preceded her in death. She later met and married Alfonso "Fonnie" Carter who also preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Earl L. (Tanya) Cotten and daughter, Amanda Lynn Carter, both of Raytown, MO; sister, Andrea Sanders of Des Moines, IA; brothers, Stanley (Margo) Fleming of San Diego, CA and John (LaFonda) Fleming of Kansas City, KS; one uncle, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of loving friends.

Funeral services Saturday, November 9, at 11:00 a.m. at Refreshing Waters Worship Center. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. Family hour 10:30-11:00 a.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
