Linda Fay Vaughn, 62, was born July 1, 1953 in Kansas City, Kansas to Austin and Geraldine (Scott) Vaughn. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as Austin Vaughn, Jr., Cheryl Vaughn and Sheila Vaughn. Linda was educated in the public schools of Kansas City, Missouri and was a graduate of Central High School. She was federal employee of General Services Administration (G.S.A.) and also worked as a labor and delivery tech at Menorah Medical Center. Linda accepted Christ at an early age and faithfully attended Parkway Baptist Church, where she served as the church secretary. She later became a dedicated member of Power of Faith A.M.E. Church, formerly Flipper Memorial A.M.E. Church. On August 31, 1972, Linda was united in marriage to Rickey Griffin I. The marriage was later dissolved. She served as president of the Tenants Association at Victoria Arms. She was also a member of the Blue Sonics Softball Team. Linda departed this life on March 6, 2016 at home. Her beautiful smile will be sincerely missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory: two sons, Steven Griffin (Stacie) and Rickey Grifffin (Tracey); four brothers, Howard Vaughn (Sarah), Rodney Vaughn (Deborah), Dennis Vaughn and Larry Vaughn; two sisters, Gloria Williams and Marjorie Lawrence; thirteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 16, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Blue Ridge Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel.
